Hello and welcome to my MONTV website. I have attended the MonTV Academy, undertaking a Level 3 City and Guilds Diploma in Media Techniques which has given me a general overview of the media industry and a practical understanding of camera craft, editing skills, journalistic procedures and website management. As part of the task assignments I have completed three short films: The first is in the form of a news bulletin in which I read three short news stories from an auto-cue. I wrote the script using information gathered from local sources and inserted relevent images into each story. The secord film is a three minute news feature about the future of the Welsh language in Wales. I presented a piece to camera on the Old Monnow Bridge, Monmouth that was interspersed with cutaway shots of bi-lingual signage, interviews with David Davies MP and Cllr Ron Stuart and vox pops with local people in the town centre. I wrote the script using information gathered from local sources, David Davies' constituency office, the Welsh Language Society and the Welsh Language Board. The third film is a documentary featuring Chris Hodges, a local craftsman who is rebuilding a 150 year old deer park wall on Little Doward hill, a well known landmark on the outskirts of Monmouth. I spent the day with Chris and filmed him working on a section of the wall and later talking about the project and himself. The following week I returned to Little Doward and filmed the deer park and the surrounding woodland. I edited the film using cutaway shots over the dialogue and towards the end showed Chris' piece to camera interspersed with cutaways. I then added a music sound track by local musicians Milne and James. Please have a look at my films below: |
